It's was a little smaller than I had hoped for and the other thing is it's really uncomfortable to hold the phone to your ear using your shoulder (no hands) it hurts your shoulder plus you can't actually do it for longer than a few seconds and then it falls. That's the design but figured I would warn people. I was looking for a 'land line' again after many years(although the phone service is actually from my cable provider). I really wanted a vintage-look phone to complement the style of my 1912 home, with its original woodwork, fireplace, and window overlooking Lake Superior. In addition to the style, I chose the phone for its size. Most of the other vintage-look phones available on Amazon are much larger than the average modern phone, and I wanted something compact enough to fit easily on my antique desk. It has, deceptively enough, all of the modern conveniences- push button dialing, voice mail, and so on. It's a great phone for my use, both in terms of function and aesthetic.
